Medical Escort
For the non-critically ill patients, we offer fully trained medical escort services on scheduled flights. If necessary, we can arrange for the patient to remain stretchered on the flight to suit both the patient’s medical needs and for the continuity of transport. Airlines’ terms do vary, however, and in the rare instance that stretchers are not allowed on a specific flight, there are options still available to us, such as being able utilise a first class flat seat. Our many years of experience allows us to negotiate the best and safest methods of transportation – we always put our patients first.
Utilising a medical escort service as a method of transportation often works out to be a far cheaper option and removes the need for chartering a dedicated air ambulance. Please be aware that this method still requires a suitable medical team to accompany the patient. It can, however, be a more appropriate option in the event that relatives want to accompany the patient, something not necessarily guaranteed with smaller private air ambulances due to space restrictions.
For long-haul flights, depending on the patients’ condition, a team of two or more medical escorts maybe required as part of the medical assistance team. Once the provisional assessment is complete, our on-duty medical director will advise accordingly.
Our service includes complete bedside-to-bedside cover, using our own network of trusted providers both abroad and in the Turkiye. We also make sure that every part of the transfer is monitored by our on-duty operations director, ensuring a smooth transit.
